Story Raffle: Azmo - How Breathtaking (Part I)
This was a promised raffle piece from my other account when I did a 500 watcher raffle.
AzmoFang was the lucky winner and she got to pick out an artist and scene. I fronted a huge portion fo the cost and also wrote a story to go for it. This is actually a two-parter: A wholesome clean first part then the optional lewder part of the story which I will post after this >w>
Story plot: Azmo wants to experience what it's like to be an aquatic species and stay underwater without the need of scuba gear. Her aquatic friend Rick has a solution that proves to be rather unique and fun for both.
Azmo & Rick – How Breathtaking (Part I)The sounds of waves hitting on the beach could be heard in the distance, the open coast not far from where the ferret/possum hybrid girl currently stood. She stared out at the water before her, a large cove not far from Enzlore Beach – aptly named ‘Enzlore’s Cove’. It stretched out half a kilometer from the shore, the far end embraced by craggy walls acting as a shield from the open water. The location was only accessible via a pathway through a cliff face that also separated the cove from the rest of the beach, making it an ideal place for those who want to be away from the general populace. While the waters here were still wide and deep, the isolation made it a place of calm and serenity.
Azmo stared out at the cove, trying to see into the water – it was surprisingly clear, considering how small the waves were rolling in, she could nearly see all the way to the bottom. “So, we were gonna dive into this cove instead of out in the open water because this was easier?”, she called out to the approaching shox coming up behind her with their towels and bags.
Rick set their belongings down on a flat surface on the rocks behind him before stepping towards the water, stretching his limbs. “Yyyup, I figured this would be an easier start for ya. There are stronger currents out in open water if we go too far out, which you might struggle with as an amateur swimmer. Here in this cove, the rocks on the far side shelter this area, weakening the waves coming in too.”
He pointed down into the water to some coloration near the bottom. “Plus, we won’t need to swim as far to find coral reefs – because of how calm this place is, we can still see a lot of activity down below. Trust me, once we get down and near the center, you’ll still feel like you’re out in the open.”
Azmo nodded while listening to his words, her eyes scanning the water in excitement; since her time knowing the shox, she had been curious about his water-breathing abilities and had envied that trait. She had always wanted to experience what it would be like to stay under without the need of bulky diving equipment. It just so happened that during one of their conversations, she had mentioned her jealousy, until Rick revealed that there was a way that she could experience the same thing secondhandedly. Just a slim opportunity alone could hardly keep her from waiting and she asked Rick to show her as soon as possible. That conversation was yesterday, and it was today that now brought them both to Enzlore’s Cove.
She was giddy with anticipation, curious how this would all go down. Looking herself over, Azmo was glad all she required was her swimsuit – a new bikini that she felt cute in, at that. Out of curiosity she looked up the cost of acquiring scuba gear and was glad to opt out of that. Still, she wondered what method would help her stay down underwater longer, as Rick never got around to explaining that. Looking back behind her, she checked on him to see how much longer she would have to wait on him – thankfully not long, as he finished getting their things in place and approaching the water with her.
“Alllllrightyyy~,” he started. “Let’s go ahead and wade right in. We’ll swim out a bit until we’re near the center, it should be deep enough for us to dive down at that point. Try to stick close to me when we go down, when you feel the need to breathe, let out all your air and then I’ll help you out.”
“Is it important that I let out all my air? Won’t I sink?” she asked.
“Mhm, you can’t take in new air if you got your lungs full.”
“But where will I get new air from?”
It was then that Rick smirked and winked to her. “Oh, you’ll find out the fun way, just trust me.”
Well, that was a cryptic way to leave her hanging, Azmo thought to herself. Better to find out for herself the ‘fun way’, as he said. Rick was already wading through the water up to his knees, so she skipped quickly to catch up to him. She shivered at the sudden coolness of the water reaching her knees, rising up her legs the further out that the two ventured. Eventually, the water rose up past her waist, then up to her chest and the two were properly swimming. Yet further still they went out in the cove, the floor dropping deeper and further away from their feet.
Rick stopped swimming out, turning to Azmo to smile at her before dunking his head under and diving down into the clear depths. Azmo could see him clearly from the surface, the shox’s form getting smaller as he went further down – the bottom was quite deep! She blinked a few times, sticking her face in the water to look down to see him better, giving her a chance to test out the device that Rick let her borrow: A nifty set of waterproof eye contacts called FishLenz. He said they were designed by aquatics to help non-aquatics see underwater without the need for goggles, acting as a protective lens to filter out the sting of sea water while providing clearer vision. To her surprise they worked magnificently – she was greeted with such clarity of colors and shapes, easily seeing the coral reef and gaggle of fish below her feet. Filled with confidence from this discovery, Azmo lifted her head up to take a few deep breaths, ready herself … Then ducked down and dived to greet her friend.
If she were above water still, she would have gasped out in awe. As Rick promised, below her was a trench of colorful plant and fish life alike. She swam further down, getting a closer look at it all, internally screaming at how awesome the experience felt; how free she felt, to swim in such a vast space, surrounded by such beauty. No gear on her back to make her feel sluggish in the water, no goggles to put a glass window between her and the mysterious world she interacted with. She was floating around just a few feet above the cove floor, circling in place to enjoy the moment. A shame that it wouldn’t last for too long, Azmo thought as she soon felt the throbbing burn of her lungs greedy for fresh air.
Rick had been hovering near her, watching, and waiting. It seemed he noticed her starting to tense up from the need to breathe and swam closer. He made a motion with his hands on his chest, puffing up and moving them up to his mouth as if to remind her to blow out her air. Azmo nodded and calmed herself as she expelled her lungs, a steady stream of bubbles escaping her mouth and nostrils. Before long, she was almost completely empty – the pressure in her chest subsided and made the throbbing tolerable, but she still wasn’t sure what he could do to-
Azmo suddenly felt Rick pull her close to him, his hands cupping her face and lips pressed to hers as he kissed her underwater. She blinked and flinched, not expecting that at all. Involuntarily she almost pulled back, but Rick held her firmly to his muzzle – and that’s when she felt a bit of air getting pushed into her mouth. The burning in her lungs forced her to take that air in he passed to her, managing to get a full breath’s worth before Rick let go of her. Azmo floated, frozen in confusion and surprise that this had worked – she felt like she had taken in fresh air and was doing okay. ‘What? …Bu…how? That shouldn’t work.’ She thought to herself, rising back up to the surface.
Rick followed her back up, his grin greeting her when he broke through the water. “So? What do ya think?”
“Hold on, how was that possible? Did I just inhale your breath? It didn’t feel like funky air, it felt clean… How did you do that?”
Rick tilted his head and lifted a hand to point to the orange fins behind his ears. “Okay, so these are my gills, pretty standard for shark-kin. The way they work is I gotta swim around and let water pass over them to filter oxygen from the water so I can breathe… Now the bit people get confused about is that the oxygen doesn’t just immediately go to my lungs - I still have to physically inhale it. So fresh air kinda just sits in the back of my throat until I breathe. This is why it’s important that aquatics need to keep moving around in the water to breathe. “
He reached out with a hand to press fingers to her lips as he looked her in the eyes. “So then, there lies the secret to the trick: If I were to breathe out instead of taking it in, I can pass along that filtered oxygen to someone else, which is why you got fresh air instead of stale breath from me. And this will allow you to stay under for as long as you wish – so long as I am nearby, and as long as you don’t mind the rather intimate method required. ~” He added with a cheeky smile at the end.
Azmo was listening and intrigued by the science behind what he was explaining before giggling at his last comment. “Hmm, ya know you didn’t have to be coy about it, if you told me what was needed at the beginning, I would have been more than okay with that. ~” she teased. “But wow, that is really neat! I didn’t know all of that before.”
“Mhm… So then, ready to keep this going?”
She didn’t have to reply to answer his question, only grinning widely as she quickly dived back down under the water. Her confidence spiked having now known that she could rely on him to help her stay down far longer, quickly getting back down to the cove floor as she checked out the coral up close. The looming shadow of Rick’s presence hovered near her, reassuring her she would be fine as she watched colorful fish dart in and out of the trench and plants. And because of the shelter of the cove, Azmo had no need to fight underwater currents, wasting air and energy to stay in place. She looked out as far as she could, barely able to see the far walls of the outer lip of the cove – the space around her feeling open enough for her to enjoy.
And the moment she felt the tightness in her chest, she would begin to expel the air out, and Rick would quickly swim next to her. Azmo smiled to him as she initiated the ‘breathtaking’ kiss this time, closing her eyes and enjoying the brief, sensual contact with her shox friend in the waters. After pulling back upon receiving another gulp of air from the male, she slipped her hand to intertwine with his own webbed fingers, floating there with him and enjoying the experience. Her envy of his underwater world only deepened in her mind – to her, this was as close as she could get to feeling like flying, to float limitlessly in this weightless watery wonderworld – just how exciting it would be when she would eventually become experienced enough to try the open waters with him. The thought of being so deep both excited and intimidated Azmo, but for now this beautiful cove was a good starting place for her. She didn’t mind taking her time here.
