I've been watching a Donghua / Chinese Anime series called Da Li Si Rizhi / White Cat Legend.

Basically "The Whtie Cat Legend" is about a nobility named Li (surname) Bing (Given name) who somehow got cursed into an Anthropomorphic Cat. His job is Shaoqing (Vice director) of Da Li Shi (kinda like Judicial Branch of government, their task is to double check major cases from various provinces and counties to see if something's off).

Problem is Li (the white cat)'s family were all executed for reasons not revealed yet. Probably have something to do with the current ruler Empress Wu's coup de tat.
