Something Simple to Zest up rice side-dishes!
Level of difficulty; 1/5
=Ingredients==
• Rice (As a base to add your crispy seasoning to!)
• Fakon (Or Bacon for a non Vegan version!)
• Sesame seeds, about a tea or table-spoon
• Poppy Seeds, tea or table-spoon again
• Nori Sheets, 1 should be way more than enough
• 'Vegeta' Stock (Or chicken, beef, vegetable, any other flavoured) Salts
• Dried Chilli flakes (if you like spice!)
• an Onion
• Mushroom or 2!
=Recipe Instructions==
— Start by dry-frying your Sesame Seeds for a small amount in a small non-stick frying pan; just enough that they brown a little (and be careful when removing them onto a small plate or bowl once browned, they get incredibly hot to touch!)
— Then fry your Fakon or Bacon up in as little to no oil as you might need in order for that to contact a small pan on a med-high heat until quite crispy (I like to cook it til it is quite particularly dry myself) then removed from the pan onto paper towel to soak out any excess oil.
Pat dry for Maximum effect!
— Next finely dice up your onion and mushrooms and fry those up in the same pan on a med to med-high heat and a small twist of oil until thoroughly browned and crispy but not burnt. Adjust heat lower if that is cooking to fast or starting to burn.
— Grate up or finely chop Nori-sheet then mortar n' pestle that til its fine flakes then mix altogether with your Sesame and Poppy Seeds, Season Salt shake (this one to taste, don't use too much, as you can always add it later) + finely diced up Fakon or Bacon.
— Top your Rice serves with the onion and mushroom mix, dump a bunch of the dry mix over the top, serve and enjoy! ♥

OH MY I KNOW so DEEPLY that it barely holds a candle to the Real Stuff™!
*cries*
But for us exclusively gross-vege' eating folks it's the closest it comes to that similar flavour/texture/'silhouette' of actual Bacon (There probably are better Smokey Seaweedy replacer's out there; but not easily readily available close to where I live yet sadly)
But I digress!
Replace Fakon with actual Bacon, Shia Labeouf, as per taste!
Only other benefit I find with Fakon over Bacon; is how heckin' dry and crispy/crack-y that can get for the purposes of seasoning! :>
