In some area's, transport isn't really avaliable to the masses. So occasionaly, people must travel in small groups together. For reasons unknown, Abar, Kelwraith and Hardkick are making such a journy from town to town. Perhaps a day or two's worth of walking considering how few supplies they carry.

Kelwraith being shorter seems to slow the journy time down so is the lucky one who gets a lift.
