One of the wonders of the legendary Atlantis is a living marble statue. Its massive paws were part of a large archway leading into the city.
The watchful eyes of the malachite, jasper, onyx, and agate serpents on the guard's head took note of every detail, and the statue allowed
only those whom it considered worthy to enter. The statue was given a name - Cerebos, echoing the name of another famous guard.
But one day disaster came to the city, and the ocean swallowed up the white-stone streets, and solid walls, and strong houses. People died,
but their creations continued to live. Cerebos the Sunken continues to stubbornly carry out its service, even if only ruins remain of its gates,
and fish and other sea creatures now swim over the broken pavements.
