You know, it's far from my most detailed piece. In fact, it's kind of simple, maybe even a touch lazy in places. But I really like it.

You can kinda see the new tail-fins back there. As for the wings... Well, it was mostly done before I had settled on a new wing-style, so, erm... We'll just say it lined up right so you can only see 3 of the wing-fingers. That's it.

And wee, depth-of-field! And it's for artistic purposes, and totally not to obscure a mediocre background! Mostly.

Also... A rather un-planned detail change. Was almost entirely done when I realized that I had forgotten to color my underside gold. So I add that in... And then start toggling back and forth between with and without. I think I like the solid-red look more. Sooo... One more detail of the appearance getting tweaked.

One odd little thing. This marks the first time in most of a decade that my desktop image is of "me," instead of Terika. That fits very much with how I've been feeling this past week or so. For so long, I'd always be thinking of wanting to be Terika, big and powerful. But now, I'm -happy- to be Phoenix. I want to soar, and dive, and all the other fun dragony things. I want to be Phoenix... And it seems strange to me now just how much I've forgotten that, over time.

Maybe it's silly. Such simple little things, like this rather basic piece of art. It isn't even terribly good. But for some reason, this kind of thing, and this picture, make me feel so happy.
