Please be aware that some of the information on this character sheet is now considered out of date and is no longer canon.
A Vluyruyrs Half-Blood made on the continent ship Cupreydor, Sofie Mercy Valentine Kirschbaum and her two sisters, Serafina and Seumephune, did not have the best start in life or the best parents one could ask for. Their mother, who shall only be referred to as 'That bitch' abused them to no end, and their father, who shall only be referred to as 'That Bastard', did nothing to stop it, in fact, he encouraged it. And it only got worse and worse as time went on, culminating in an incident where 'That bitch', in a fit of rage, stabbed her in the eye with a sewing needle.
When paramedics arrived at what they were told was an 'accident', Sofie's sisters informed them about what happened. 'That bitch' and 'That Bastard', in an attempt to silence them, tried to kill Serafina and Seumephune, as well as the paramedics when they stepped in to stop them. Luckily there was a police car in the area and they overheard the commotion and went in to investigate it. Realising what was going on, they apprehended 'That bitch' and 'That Bastard', despite their many unsuccessful attempts at deceiving them by saying that the paramedics attacked them.
Whilst their parents were arrested, Sofie was quickly rushed to the hospital and treated. Whilst she was relatively unharmed, whilst her right eye was damaged but repairable, the optic nerve connecting it to her brain had been severed and broken beyond repair, leaving her blind in that eye.
Enter stage left Mor'gumoth, a demon who took up residence inside Sofie's non-functional eye so that he could survive, as he was unable to possess Vluyruyrs. Worried at first, Sofie soon calmed down and allowed the demon to stay within her eye, in exchange for using his powers to allow her to see through it again, even when covered by an eyepatch.
When Sofie got better, they were passed onto 'That bitch's' sister, Helmina Kirschbaum. The sisters were worried that she was just like 'That bitch', but she turned out to be a lot better than her sister, taking care of them and treating them exactly how a mother should.
Helmina wasn't as well off as 'That bitch' was, however, having to live above a strip club that she worked at, alongside her boss and a few others who worked at the club. But, dispute this, she still looked after them the best she could.
Sofie and her sisters enjoyed their time with Helmina, viewing her as their real mother. But sadly, two years after they came under their care, disaster struck. Brigitte's latest husband turned out to be a psycho and tried to murder one of the girls who worked at Brigitte's club. The synthetic jumped to the girl's defence and, unfortunately, had to kill him in self-defence.
Despite killing someone, Brigitte was let off due to it being in self-defence, but that was not the end of their problems. The man had a brother, and he wanted justice for his brother's murder' even though he tried to kill someone. He dispatched several assassins to kill Brigitte, as well as everyone she lived and worked with, which unfortunately included Sofie, her sisters, and their mother Helmina. Starting with the girls who worked at Brigitte's club.
Realising that they had a powerful man out to kill them and no hope of getting outside help, Brigitte tried to save as many of her girls as possible, but even with her military background, she could not save all of them. Mor'gumoth wanted to help, but there was nothing he could do, as the only thing he could do was possess someone, which he couldn't. Realising how fucked they were and that nowhere on in the fleet was safe, she made the hard choice to leave the migrant fleet, with Sofie, her sister, and Helmina.
During their escape to the ship that would take them off the fleet, the sisters and Brigitte got separated from Helmina. When they reached the ship they waited for her for several hours, hoping that she was only delayed. But, news soon reached them that Helmina too had been killed. Sofie at first did not believe that she was dead, not wanting the only woman to care for her to leave. Mor'gumoth did his best to calm her down, but, as they left the fleet never to return, Sofie cried for hours on end, saddened that Helmina would not be joining them.
Living outside the fleet was hard, living in a galaxy where humans were more common than habitable worlds due to there being an ungodly large amount of Earths out in the universe. The only comfort Sofie had was that Mor'gumoth had opted to stay with her, despite there being no end to people he could possess around them. She did not know why he stayed with her, but she was grateful for it, as she saw the demon as a sort of surrogate father.
Life outside the fleet was hard but they managed to survive. Brigitte looked after them and taught them what they needed to know. Sofie even managed to get a medical license, allowing her to work as a doctor on board starships, giving her sisters and Brigitte more opportunities to work as members of the ship's engineering staff.
Whilst Sofie has gotten used to her life outside the fleet, she does wish that things could have been different, that they could have stayed within the fleet with Helmina.

well when your species has well over forty billion people living onboard a large veriaty of starships, then your going to strugel to find work for all of them. even if you do have an education and skills required, like Sofie here, finding an actuarial paying job is still very dificult. kind of like the situration on Earth in the Expanse.
