It's been over three months now since that eventful romp in the sky. With Eri carrying Rinji's first child after learning of it from their friend Mimic, plans were soon underway to prepare for the eventual start of their full-on family. Given her massively muscular physique and all that fluff, it was still too soon to notice any bulge in Eri's belly. She has since gotten past the morning sickness stage and has been positively glowing lately.

This new reality they faced wasn't without its moments of stress. While Rinji had pondered many times on the idea of becoming a father, knowing it was real this time was sometimes a little worrisome. His whole life, he had dedicated himself as a ninja to fight and protect those who can't protect themselves. He's since evolved into a new race, yet the fundamental core of his being remains the same. A lot of questions flooded his mind to the point where he'd wake up in the middle of the night in a panic.

Luckily for him, Eri was much more ready for this big step and her unconditional love for her mate/husband allowed for Rinji to find a great deal of comfort in her. She assured him, more than once, that this would work out beautifully and that they would share the responsiblity together. Suffice it to say, Rinji eventually came to grips with his eventual fatherhood and even began embracing it. He told himself that most men are lucky to spend just a couple years on their own before they find themselves settling down with a family. He's had literal decades. It was clearly high time for him to take this next step.

And so as the weeks dragged on and the beefy birb was entering her second trimester, Rinji decided to build an expansion to his tightly built cabin, since it was necessary. As he labored on the roof, nailing the latest carefully cut log into place; unbeknownst to him, Eri landed in the yard behind him having returned from a casual flight over the surrounding mountains. She saw Rinji working hard and couldn't help but smile serenely at him, proud of the hard work her mate was doing. She may not be sporting a preggo belly yet, but she just started feeling her baby's first movements within her. She wanted to tell her husband this latest news, but she decided to wait until he was done. She also had other news for him, but that could wait too...
