Worth the Wait

I passed this patch of flowers last spring on a day I went riding without my camera. By the time I made it back, I was too late. Got ‘em this time and it was worth the wait. These are actually fairly small. The flower structure is only about 2-inches high.

Thanks for the comment, Ray. These appear to be a species of lupine related to your Lupinus Texensis variety. They’ve disappeared from Kansas as well by now. I shot this photo a month and a half ago.
