Also called ‘peeled’ pfff but here’s how the monstrous Blaze looked like as a baby! Their extra limbs not yet developed n grown, and only two tails to start with. Plating begins growing once they’re a year old and continues throughout that time until they’re the equivalent of a 17 yr old human (so..around 5 years in Octobird years) which is surprisingly young to develop a full plating for the usual species. Further years these plates will become thicker and more sturdy yet still able to allow them free movement. Their crest will continue to grow and will have to be filed down by others to prevent accidental stabbing of their own back of neck if they move it too far back.

Forcibly removing the plates is not an option as they are fused to the body. They can grow back but it’ll affect the growth rate and it’s just painful. Which is something I’ll write a bit further on later via drawings that’ll tell more on Blaze’s background
