If you remember, this test was about hybrids who are not social. Not being noticed at all. Maybe Ka-chan is a hybrid that closed herself off from others viewing her. became that anti-social that others just don't notice her anymore. Maybe Jin can still see her because he knew her.

BTW, I do like the fact that you know the proper usage of the word Sensei. Most people believe it means teacher but its meaning is deeper than that. It's used as a descriptive of anyone who, not only teaches but leads. You can refer to your boss, trainer, or school teacher as Sensei. While I'm not absolutely certain what Reiniger's position actually is, it isn't uncommon in these situations for a Japanese child to refer to someone like him as, Sensei.
