These images are coming out pretty dark, but when I try to fix it it winds up looking washed-out. And I do want to keep some of the pencil background "noise." The only changes from the raw scan has been to spot out a scanner artifact in the upper left, and to re-size the image to a smaller format so that I can push it through the intarwebz' tubes without taking all night.
