So recently I've been toying around with the idea of creating a futuristic sci fi setting set in my universe. These characters concepts are military units of one of the main factions of the setting, The Unitary Canine Republic which is basically what happens when you combine elements of the Galactic empire/Republic, Imperium of Man, United Citizens Federation, and doggies together. Of course their main rivals are felines so don't ask:) I'll probably do the Unitary Navy later soon if this gets enough love or something.

Left to right:

-Militia mutts are probably the most numerous and expendable units in the Unitary army. Trillions of men and women are conscripted or enlisted into the Unitary Militia who's mission is to defend the millions of UCR worlds from the numerous threats the republic faces as well as serving as incompetent cannon fodder for the regular army. Given the most basic training and equipment, these mutts perform rather poorly against most stronger enemies when alone or in small groups. However, quantity has a quality of its own which is a quote the militia embraces fully.

-While better trained and equipped than their militia counterparts, a regular Army trooper is still considered expendable as the Army core possibly ranks in the billions. Their better training and weapons can make the Army trooper a formidable foe but like the militia, they're best used in large numbers. Both militia and army troopers come in a variety of variants.

-Stern, ruthless, and loyal, the greatest officers of the Unitary army are often feared and respected by both allies and foe alike. Only a few officers live up to this reputation though as many are incompetent, reckless, and egotistic maniacs seeking to rise through the ranks rather than caring for the lives of their soldiers.

-Strumtroopers are cybernetically and genetically enhanced heavy soldiers designed to push straight into and break the enemy front lines. Armed rapid hard hitting plasma guns and body armor, strumtroopers are a force to be reckon with especially when supported by other infantry or drones. It should be noted that their "face masks" are actually cybernetically implanted into their faces.

-Crusaders are the next level of strumtrooper evolution. Even more armored, enhanced and devoid of emotions, crusaders are feared among the enemies of the republic and many retreat at the mere sight of one. Their main weapon is an extremely powerful heavy disintegration rifle capable of turning tanks into ashes.

-Light and agile, pathfinders operate ahead of the main forces, gathering intel and hindering the enemy's ability to fight effectively. while being highly trained specialists, pathfinders don't fare well in heavy close combat and are instead best used as sharpshooters, reconnaissance, or saboteurs.

-These puppers operate and maintain the millions of vehicles the army utilizes in war. Armed with basic weaponry and with minimal combat training, vehicle crews often get butchered when fighting without their vehicles. When behind the controls of a tank however, they'll be the ones doing the butchering of the enemy.
