Artorias was a lonely wolf and for all his life he was doing his things alone, he never let himself get close to anyone, not because he didn't care but because he cared too much, his wolf Sif was his only companion.
Gwyn the king of Anor Londo had 4 knights, Artorias was the white knight, rescuing others.
One day Meredyth was chosen by the king to be his personal sorcerer/clairvoyant, Artorias was fascinated by her look but was keeping distance while Meredyth wanted to get close to him
She would follow him around occasionally without being too close observing the knight in his daily life, Artorias obviously knew but didn't mind
One time Artorias was sitting in the royal garden his favorite place and Meredyth decided to sit next to him and started a conversation, asking him several questions including why he was lonely roaming the castle all by himself, he also had questions about her and why she look the way she did, as the time passed they often meet with each other in the garden and spend time together, Artorias knew he was getting close to her and decided to let it happen, he eventually fell in love with her and it was mutual, Artorias had everything a lady would dream.
Both never had lovers before, Artorias with his lonely life and Meredyth living in a human society making mostly impossible to find a lover there, she would rarely come across men taller than her, so they had to do things right with both still virgin marrying each other was the best for both and so Artorias asked Meredyth to become his wife.
They will live together for 47 years, having 2 twin daughters before the dark toke their life.
