This picture is based on my very first HOTR fanfiction "Life Before Paradise" also inspired by a dream I had the year after HOTR was released in theatres. It starts with Grace waking up from a nightmare that opens up an old wound to her days as a calf when she was living with an abusive owner, taken from her mother too soon. It leaves her feeling depressed and scared soon afterward to a point where she is unable to enjoy anything with anyone, in fear of her original owner coming to take her away. However, she is able to tell the story to Maggie and Mrs. C throughout the entire story and learns about letting go of the past to focus on the present. The story was also inspired by events in my life that lead me to doubt my talents and inspirations.
