Most definitely, not having to go the bathroom, and having your food near instantly turned into energy beats waiting for your body to extract things from your food. In practice Vera could just keep eating, and in turn just keep getting bigger and bigger, while Hueberry like nearly every living thing has to wait when she's stuffed.
