You see, THIS is where a short narration would really be handy. For instance, what exactly happened there? Why/how did her wings shatter? What's happening now in this moment? Are they surely crashing down on the roof? So many questions. I don't entirely understand what has happened here other than she took off through the window while carrying him. >.<
Very simply because the skylight is tiny.
Her wings did not go through.
Unfortunately her wings were also built to support her body during "flight" so they are the sturdiest part of her, and rigidly connected to everything.
So, we have a "bee situation" where her wings not passing through the skylight means everything got pulled out when she tried to save him.

Though technically there is another page right before the second there where i show Wayne landing on a tree and dangling upside-down to see Philomela devastated below him.
