Waasi is the lost daughter of Zira.

When young, things got ugly fast, she was almost eaten alive by hyenas but somehow by the skin of her teeth, or her ears, she fell down a cliff and they refused to go after her. Thinking she was dead, Zira carried on raising her other new cubs, Vitani and Kovu.

She grew up alone, her mental state took a toll from the fall and the injuries. You could say she was insane, but it could just be inherited from her mother.

Waasi swore vengeance, thinking her mother abandoned her. All she wanted was her death by her claws.

In a stroke of luck, she found her mother washed up after the battle after trying to kill Kiara. Waasi helped her out of the water and Zira managed to regain consciousness, but still badly injured. Zira recognised her daughters scent, she made sure to tell Waasi what happened in her past. The young lioness was furious, hurt, but now knew it was the hyenas that hurt her, not her mother.

Waasi tended to Zira, stayed with her until she passed away from her injuries.

Waasi went to Pride Rock, not knowing of her mothers ill intent towards the Pride Landers.

King Simba told her, to which the young lioness almost fell apart, holding it together, she asked the other lions, the outlanders...if Zira was evil as they said. Mixed words, it all got too much for her. Vitani found her standing at the ledge of the gorge later on, making a mad dash and back from the edge as if psyching herself up for the fall.

Vitani stopped Waasi, taking her back to Pride Rock...telling her that the Pride would look after her despite her past, her mental health and confusion/anger.

Waasi accepted Simba as her King and is now part of the Pridelanders!

Long story, heh.
