So this actually happened to NSW.. OK well maybe not to the extent of something like this where the thing turned possessed and started to fly over hills.. But nonetheless, the story is that the linkage for the steering broke and the tractor was free to go wherever it desired, more-or-less.

Similar thing happened to me years ago as a kid. Was on the farm riding my grandpa's antiquated Honda ATV that was always thrashed on and never taken care of it's whole life and going down a steep incline and the brakes failed on me.
Went from crawling along at a walk's pace to probably only around 25 or so mph but when you're 8 years old it feels a lot faster! Toward the bottom of the hill I decided to cut my losses at trying to get it to slow down and bailed off and landed in the grass next to the trail. Then watched as the machine raced off the side of the trail ghost rider style and zoomed down into a large patch of brush at the bottom of the hill where it finally stopped! Lol, the old man wasn't happy with me but a ride through the thorns wouldn't be worth it! Ha
