Well my nighttime bug hunt didn't turn up much. just the usual amount of tiny spiders hunting and giant earthworms getting freaky.
Though there were a few of these guys too.
Pill bugs are fascinating isopods. They have a segmented body, almost like an accordion, which allows them to roll into a perfect little ball.
Their armor bears a great resemblance to that of an armadillo. hence their scientific label Armadillidiidae. kinda brings convergence to mind.
and they have some nice marking too.

We call these "Roll Ups" or "Rolly Bugs" here in Australia. At least last I checked. But we also name them by their actual name too.
Although one thing that's immediately obvious (and a bit of a throw off) is the fact that your Armadillo-bugs are prettier. Ours are like a plane gray, sometimes more of a blue-gray.
They need some fashion pointers from your Pill Bugs. =P
