Rattie Babies day 2
I'm going to try for 1 picture a day, since rats develop so quickly that there are huge differences every day!
I *THINK* we have 3 boys and 2 girls. I forgot to check for dumbo ears--the rescue said the fathers had dumbo in their litter and we have no idea about Inari. There is one baby that is definitely dark, with a second that is looking darker each time I take them out. We will know the real beginnings of colors in the next couple of days.

Do you know their backgrounds and pedigrees (more than 3 gens back at least)? Rat babies are cute, but I know most parts of Canada are actually in great need of rescues due to the number of unwanted animals, it would be much better use of your resources to help rats in need then to breed more when homes are so scarce. I'm not one to judge others decisions (I'm not saying I think ill of you in any way), but a lot of people just aren't aware how bad the situation is, and breeding animals without a significant plan for improving health and temperament with pedigreed animals just makes the situation worse. It's why I became a rescuer, because I love rats and wanted to do more for the species since they get so much neglect and abuse.
You can always take in pregnant females, there are plenty in rescue, which would give you a chance to handle the young'ns without adding to the issue of overpopulation ^_^
