Pop one of these pop-ular delicious delights from the kitchens of screamerjinx

I made cake pop with a friend of mine today! This is how they turned out!
So a cake pop or cake ball is basically cake that has been dipped in chocolate!
What I did was I baked a normal cake recipe up, let it cool for an hour after baking. Then I cut up the cake, because it's easier to get into handfuls that way, then in a bowl, we took the handfuls of cake and crumbled them up. As fine of crumbs as possible! Then my mom made butter based frosting for me. I tried to make it myself but she interjected and said "Let me just do it!"
We scooped the frosting into the cake crumbs and stirred it in, making a thick, moist lump of cake crumbs. Then I took a cookie scoop, sort of looks like an ice cream scoop, and make equal sized, probably tablespoon sized balls.
We set those on waxed paper on a cookie sheet and set them in the fridge to cool! When they were firm enough, we took them out and took "Meltys" which is like chipped baker's chocolate and melted that in the microwave, you can do a double boiler if you like. We then placed the balls into the melted chocolate and made sure to coat them evenly, placing them back in the same spot they were on on the cookie sheet. Before they cooled, we sprinkled them with color sugar and jimmies!
Cake Recipe:
Crazy Cake
1 1/2 cups sifted flour
1 cup sugar
1 tsp soda
1/2 tsp salt
3 tbsp cocoa
1 tsp vanilla
1tbsp vinegar
6 tbsp canola oil
1 cup cold water
Sift dry ingredients together (I just sifted the flour and stirred them together). Mix in the wet ingredients with a fork, don't beat it. Back for 25 minutes at 325 F.
