Bascially, you take Connor's chill and generally friendly nature then flip it and you have this dude!
He's a fallen angel and he got his wings burnt as he was sent to big ol' hell, he's resentful towards the god that had banished him from where he came from just because his POV about what he's being asked to do changed overtime and Azazel has become hesitant. Eventually, one of the other angels would snitch on him, leading to their god finding out about his hesitation and without even giving him a chance, was immediately exiled.
