That's a really great job. There's nothing I can think to improve about the model or materials. Definitely time for rigging! The next thing I'd work on after that is the lighting. The duskiness that's evident on the outlines (especially on the gold material) is best fixed with environment light, but that's complicated and can be cheated up with a few spots off to the side.
