The sun was setting, and it was time to call it quits. Mik raced up the ladder and back to the diving board. This would be her last dive of the day. "Focus..." she told herself, her body tensing up into a ready position. She could feel it. This time the final spin would be perfect. The orange light of the sun glistened off the water...she took a deep breath and went for it.

She's finally finished! I'm a big fan of  Tsampikos 's character, the lovely Mikhaila Kirov. And I'm really happy with how she turned out. Shame it took so long to finish her. She was left in a half inked state for...gosh, at least 8 months or longer before I finally got around to finishing that. Then I decided that enough was enough. I wanted to to finish this drawing. So I spent the past month working on the coloring and shading.

I spent a lot of time studying Tsampikos' drawings to figure out more about them. Believe me, this guy knows color. Far better than I do. His images really pop. And it was my intent to try and make this look like one of his drawings. In doing so, I think I learned a few things about different layer settings and just rendering in general.

And actually, just up until yesterday this drawing was indoors with a overall blue tone to it.
