Jarold is my Pathfinder character in a Skulls and Shackles game. Captain of the newly minted Heart of Gold; he's just starting his pirate career. He won captaincy by literally being the only one there who wasn't the harpy... Or, the Elf who literally went into a backstory monologue about her 'detriments' and 'qualifications'.

His speech was short, sweet, and to the point:

"I am a fair hand, anything we do as a crew will see the crew rewarded justly- As I've only been a whaler most of my life I don't know much about piracy, I can't guarantee our fortunes, but I can guarantee that we'll find a name for ourselves. And we will be the baddest bastards on the sea!"

Of course the Pirates loved him for that. Also he does his fair share of duties.
