Krystal had been lounging about in the back of her ship, letting the autopilot do the work for her as the ship sailed through the grand vastness of space. She had been accompanied by Renamon, a member of the Digimon race hailing from the planet Earth.
The two were currently discussing their past adventures. Krystal was in the midst of sharing her latest major mission, which brought her to delve into a particularly uncertain issue.
"So yeah, right now things with Fox are a little … complicated, to say the least," Krystal confided to her yellow companion. Ever since the Star Fox team's successful battle against the Aparoids, her relationship with the titular member of the team had gotten rocky.
Renamon listened to the fellow vixen's words, trying as best she could to understand. She had not been familiar with any feelings such as romance and was far from a good source of advice on the subject. But she recognized the inner turmoil inside Krystal, and was compassionate about it.
She settled for the kind of words of comfort she'd heard many times and seemed to work. "Well, I'm sure that you two will figure everything out. From my accounts on Earth, friends and companions go through many quarrels, but recover in time," she said.
Krystal was grateful for at least some form of a compassionate ear. "Thank you. I guess these things do happen." Still, doubt loomed in her mind. She was grateful to the team for all they had done for her, but she was starting to question whether it was worth staying with them. She felt ashamed for having such thoughts, and yet-
Her troubled thoughts were cut off suddenly, by a loud bang that sounded like it was coming from the top of the ship. The two vulpine females jolted their heads up in surprise. Their surprise doubled when a chunk of the ceiling suddenly fell from its place, dropping swiftly to the floor. In its place was a glass cylinder connected to another ship of a similar size above them. From that ship, a strange figure jumped through the cylinder and landed in front of Krystal and Renamon.
He was a leopard, a couple of inches taller than Renamon. He was wearing protective armor, and was holstering a strange-looking gun at his waist. After landing in a crouch, he stood back up straight. Renamon and Krystal wasted no time in getting up out of their seats and standing in a defensive position.
"What the- who are you?! What did you do to my ship?!" Krystal shouted.
The leopard smirked at the fox's anger. "Now, now, lady, calm down now. I don't want any more trouble than needed," he said coolly. He reached his hand to pull out the gun from its holster, and the two vixens visibly tensed and crouched a little in their stances, ready to strike.
"Put that away at once," Renamon said, her voice calm but stern. "I don't think you know what you're up against," while Krystal would need to get her staff out of her chambers, Renamon was always ready for combat.
"Oh? Is that so? Well I could say the same to you, my dear. But there's no need for that. Tell me where you two keep your treasures on this ship, and I'll take them off your hands and be on my way. Sound easy enough?"
Renamon's eyes narrowed to slits in irritation. She readied herself to spring, sensing that things were about to get ugly. Krystal, however, was less calm. "Really! You think I'll just hand whatever I have on this ship over to some scumbag who breaks into my ship?! You have no right to-"
Krystal's rant was cut off as the leopard quickly aimed his gun at her feet and fired. Instead of bullets, however, it fired out a glowing blue snakelike cord. Before either fox could react to it, the cord swiftly went for Krystal's ankles and wrapped around both of them. It squeezed tight, and Krystal fell over on her face on the floor.
"Oomph!" she shouted in shock.
Renamon's eyes widened. She charged at the leopard, only for him to fire the weapon at her chest. Another glowing cord launched out and coiled itself around her arms and torso, pinning her arms to her sides. Renamon barely managed to keep herself upright from the interruption of momentum, her knees bent to keep steady. She turned around with a look of rage on her face, but the leopard already fired another cord at her legs, wrapping them together. Renamon was able to keep her balance, but the leopard ran into her and knocked her on the floor.
"Nrrg! Release me of this at once!" Renamon shouted as she tugged and struggled in the cords. The leopard only laughed and turned to Krystal. The blue fox was trying to untangle the cords around her ankles, but her efforts were halted when she found another cord wrapping her arms to her sides just like Renamon's had been.
"NO!" Krystal lamented.
"Who doesn't know what they're up against?" the leopard asked mockingly.
Both foxes were struggling to get the cords off, but they held firmly. Neither of their abilities were having any effect on the bindings. Renamon couldn't even summon a diamond storm to snap them with her arms pinned!
The leopard took advantage of their vulnerability and fired more cords out at both of them. In each case, ropelike material proceeded to wind up their target's legs, further securing them. More then went up their waists and covered what little of their upper bodies that had been visible beforehand. When he was done, Krystal and Renamon had been completely covered in the blue material from their shoulders to their ankles.
"Now then, I suppose you two won't be causing me any more trouble," the leopard said in a snarky tone. "If you don't mind, I'll be getting to work."
"LET US GO!!" Krystal yelled. "I'LL HAVE YOU KNOW THAT I'M AN OFFICIAL MEMBER OF TEAM STAR FOX, AND WHEN THEY HEAR ABOUT WHAT YOU'VE DONE, THEY'LL-MMMMMPPHHH!!!"
Yet another glowing rope was fired, and it made it way around Krystal's head and over her mouth. It tightened itself, leaving the blue fox gagged.
"There, you were giving me a headache." The leopard then turned to Renamon, who glowered at him as if to say, Don't you dare. Her captor only smirked and fired at her, and she found herself identically gagged.
"Mmmph!" Renamon was more level-headed then her companion, but having her body so heavily restrained and now her mouth blocked up brought out her more aggressive side.
"Just sit there, girls, and keep quiet. Should be a lot easier for you now!" the leopard put his gun back into the holster and left the room, heading to the back of the ship.
Krystal was beyond agitated. She had stored a very large bounty back there, and now this Neanderthal was just coming in and trying to steal it! Worse, it was looking more and more like he would succeed! These cords were immensely strong, not even stretching or straining in the slightest with every tug and shift she made. Her strong shoulders were bulging and her teeth were gritted under the gag as she tried desperately to snap the glowing ropes. Looking over at her yellow friend, it looked like she was having no more luck.
Indeed, Renamon couldn't find any way to get out of these binds. While she had no belongings of her own on the ship, it nonetheless infuriated her to see such injustice, especially towards a friend. She was shifting and twisting to try and find some opening, but none such opening presented itself. Her mighty legs wriggled fruitlessly, and she let out little muffled huffs of frustration. Nothing was working.
"Gmmmh!"
"Rrrrhmm!!"
After several minutes of trying to get free, Renamon just slumped down in exasperation. She breathed deeply through her nose, the ropes at her chest slightly expanding and contracting with her breathing. She looked over to see that Krystal was still struggling and grunting, having more personal stake in this. But after another minute, even she had to concede for the moment.
The blue fox looked over to Renamon. She felt a twinge of guilt at the current situation. Yes, there was no way she could have known that this would happen, but she was still the reason that Renamon had been on the ship. Renamon's gaze met her friend's, and her icy blue eyes narrowed in confusion at Krystal's guilt-ridden expression. "Whnn wrnng?" she tried to ask.
Krystal couldn't understand the yellow vixen, so just shook her head. "Nn nnndnng."
Renamon's eyes narrowed a little further, before she saw Krystal just slump in defeat. Indeed, Krystal was feeling considerably low. As if it wasn't enough that she was at a personal crossroads; she was now about to lose many valuables and precious items to this criminal. It felt like everything in her life was slowly falling apart. And now her physical inability to do nearly anything other than squirm and wriggle was compounded on top of all that, making her helplessness all too literal. She squeezed her eyes shut as her lips quivered under the ropes.
Renamon may have given off a cold exterior, but she could sense emotional distress, and even though Krystal's lower face was covered, it still gave away the pain in her mind. The Digimon's noble sense of duty took over, and she found herself sliding over to the blue fox. She got her wrapped up left side touching Krystal's own right side. Krystal grunted briefly and looked up at her friend, trying to show comfort through touch and through her eyes. Krystal sensed her friend's intentions, and did nothing more than rest her head on Renamon's shoulder. Renamon, in turn, rested her own head on Krystal's. They didn't know what would happen now. Would this thief just leave them bound and gagged like this, helpless to whatever the ship came across? Probably; he didn't exactly seem like the courteous type.
Either way, the two females were helpless to stop it. All they could do is make the whole situation a little less distressing for each other.
I don't own Digimon, Star Fox, or the characters of Renamon or Krystal.

This is not the kind of setup that I'd usually do (that being a crossover), but many months before the original upload, sonic-the-cool-man on DeviantArt suggested I do a story about Renamon (Digimon Tamers) and Krystal (Star Fox) being captured together. So I decided to whip out something short and sweet and send it to them. It's pretty simple and not my most detailed or thorough work, but I thought it'd be a nice little treat, so here ya go!
And to make something clear, I did this back when I was more lenient with going forward with other people's suggestions/requests. After doing this, I realized that I didn't want to write out people's ideas unless I really, really had a drive to do them, even if they're shorter like this. I had decided not to upload this because it didn't seem fair to everyone else who had a request for me since. And I do apologize for accepting this one while rejecting the rest. But on the original upload night, I remembered it and realized that there's little sense letting a finished (if not exceptional) product sit around unread. But essentially, don't take this to mean that I'll be accepting ideas going forward, at least for now.
