I saw BNA, personally I found it nice. Yet it I say it has a few flaws near the end.
Shirou and his Beast Man Pride VS Not wanting the whole city to turn into a monster Battle Royal felt dumb
Michiru's story was interesting, yet I found it kinda ridiculous that later on she can just morph into anything on the fly. With no real training or whatever. Felt Deus Ex Machina to me
Also the whole thing that these people can turn into animals, yet their human form is the more acceptable? Contradiction much?

Actually, creators Byron Howard and Rich Moore both expressed that they intentionally made the ending of the movie "ambiguous", meaning that its equally possible that they are just platonic friends or a couple, and so it can't be just "wishful thinking"
Also, I really liked Byron's response, where he described them as people who care deeply for each-other and each would put the other before themselves, and regardless whenever it will be romantic or not, there is strong potential for it.

I'm pretty faithful for a sequel, especially considering how much of a critical and financial darling the first film was, and how much they didn't manage to feature and how many directions they could go. Considering that Rich left the studio, and Byron and Jared are tied up with another film ATM, I think that it's entirely understandable that we haven't heard a thing about a Zootopia followup. Hopefully all this time has helped the two of them really figure out what they want to do with it before going into full production.
And considering their response in that interview, I think they'll go for the latter option.

I said the sequel of Zootopia should be focused on Nick Wild this time and be about him on if he really good enough to be a cop and if the whole world will accept him even he is a fox and show more about his past and his parent and give him a better development and maybe make it dark. That's the sequel I like to see.
I doubt it would be dark, but I can see it being focused on Nick. I think he and Judy will have to check in a case in Judy's hometown and they'll have to do their job while pretending to be a couple of regular farmers. Then we get to see Nick struggling with farm chores and Judy'll have to teach him how rural life is. Sort of like a reverse Zootopia 1
