That tree looks like it's holding on to that centre crucifix. And the clouds look like they're going in two different directions. o.o

The center cross had a crucified statue of Jesus, but vandals appeared to have tipped it over and thrown it off the mountain. Someone placed it back up against the bush.

I love how clouds come out in longer exposures.

Oh, is this the one that overlooks Waterbury CT? I'd heard about it after wondering about the giant electric cross that's lit up on the hill at night. It sounds like a neat place to sneak into.

The infrared with the trees and clouds is a nice effect on this photo.

This is it! And honestly there is no sneaking involved. There is a convent on the property, and they don't mind if you go up to look, given the right intentions. It's not a place to go at night from what I'm told. Seems to be a popular hangout for drug addicts.

The review I'd read of the old park on RoadsideAmerica.com had said that the nuns running the convent wouldn't let anybody on the premises. So that's cool they let people go up to look.

If you have the 18-70mm Nikkor lens with your D70, get a 67mm Hoya R72 filter and talk to me about setting a custom white balance. Then shoot IR!

Away from the hands of the Bible banging morons and the twisted players of the pulpit, religion can be a very beuatiful thing.
