Looks like an abandoned home from City 17 from Half Life 2!
Which means this is awesome!
There is some strange gravity going on here, maybe you found a bug in the matrix, like that short anime story from the animatrix where those kids find that "haunted" house but its actually just corrupted code. ;)

For whatever reason, I'm terribly fascinated by abandoned/ruined structures, even if they're a deathtrap, I could just imagine having one livable room in the middle of an abandoned warehouse or factory, it'd be so awesome. (not to meniton how much space you'd have, drafts, mice, and weather leaks aside) Where is this place? What happened to it? What was it before it came into this condition?
This place is in NY state, and was built just before the 1900's as a resort, but was convered into a finishing school for women shortly afterwards. It was mainly constructed out of wood and stone, and has fallen to the elements since it closed in 1977.
I think housing will soon replace its spot on the hill, because its spoken of as a sore thumb to the development within 20 yards behind the property.

What a shame, I wonder why perfectly good structures would just be abandoned, nobody could buy it or wanted it? My college dorm is in a building about as old as that one, eh, looks to be in considerably better condition, at least with all the cosmetics. Like ceiling tiles to hide the fact that the plaster has crumbled away from the slates just over my bed. o o;
Anywho, thats really neat, thanks for sharing.
