A forlorn relic of the past quietly awaiting it's fate. The depot at Paris, KY was last used for passenger traffic in 1993 when excursion trains of the Central KY Railroad were run in Paris using a small 2-6-2 from Arkansas which today is parked on a siding up track. When CSX purchased the railroad through Paris an immediate end came to these excursions.
Around 1997 the depot was converted into a restaurant which supposedly did good business but closed somewhere around 2000 because the owners husband died. Since then it has gone into abandonment.

Well you can't save them all. The Paris depot has the handicap of being on a vague street away from the downtown area so you wouldn't have any "walk in" traffic if you put a business in it.
Plus theres the fact it would take major $$ to get her outside looking good again. The interior is fairly well maintained.
But Central KY actually has alot of saved depots doing various things. Almost every major town has one still standing.
