Poor Richard, at least they can still find positives regarding his condition.
As far as a pose, downward dog seems the low hanging fruit as it was in your story so that could work. Or maybe a Triangle pose to see how far the ravioli man can bend.
Either way I like your drawings of the characters, they look just as you describe them and are full of personality.
