Charlie acts like an archrival or nemesis to Annie Moo, being the one who is most easily aggravated and annoyed by Annie's shenanigans. He is a horse with a terrible temper, and often loses it with Annie, and hates being bossed around by someone like Rodney the Rooster. He does not hesitate to yell at Annie Moo or kick her in the tail when he thinks that she needs it, even making a mockery of her when she gets in trouble with Mrs. Baker. He acts nice and normal only when he deems it necessary, such as being put to work in the fields when Mrs. Baker is around.
