The Malkin of the Garden
The garden was Shulva's divine dream made manifest far below the lower realms as a home for the forgotten and the forlorn. And it is believed that those who plummet so very far, share a destiny to rise once more inevitably.
Shulva's final sight had been the unending expanse of darkness, similar to the surface of a black sun, and deeper still they witnessed the great and sharp serpent Valdurech, weaving like a thread upon the expanse.
Though Arbinel's child is long lost, and only the mouths of Shulva remain, the silent threads of the serpent remain woven into us, and thus will we forever be embraced by the silent refuge of the sunless Garden. The seeds of our divine darkness destined to take shape and grow one day yet.
But no matter how far should one fall, the Garden will always be their home. And no matter how far you rise, the Garden will always remember your thread.
To be a Malkin is to be unwanted and shunned, but the elder Malkin of the arts is empathetic to fallen souls most sorrowful. Through the soft playing of their flute do they hope to offer comfort to those weighed down in any small way.
