"Rex is a young fox trying to scratch out a living in the wasteland that is all that remains of his world. Working for the headman of the village of Salvation, Rex is called into service when a plague threatens the very existence of his home. And so, the young fox sets off on a quest to find the only known cure: a medicine from the old world that lies deep within a deadly realm known only as the Stone Sea.
But, that is not all that waits there. Everything Rex knows will be called into question as he squares off against the ghosts that haunt a demon and the creatures that tore his world apart..."
Seeing some of the art that got created for the competition that was spawned by my story made me want to do some of my own. hehe... I'm working on a drawing of Krech now, but that will take a little more time (so many stripes... *dizzy*).
Just to be clear, this is not an entry into the contest as it wouldn't be fair of me to enter. I am the author, after all. And, I could just stick myself in the story any old time I wanted to. heh... So, I don't want to take that prize away from anyone else if I was to win.
So, this is Rex somewhere around the middle of the story (the part that hasn't happened yet XP). If you haven't read it yet, Fallen Lands is a post apocalyptic furry story, and you can find it here: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/3551707/
For those who have read it, a 2nd chapter is well under way and should be ready within 10 days or so. ^_^

I did tell you how much I like this picture, right? Cause, you know... I do!
Your lines are looking better and better with each piece that you ink! Before long I'll have to teach you the next step in line art awesomeness.
The color is also coming along very nicely too. You're staying in the lines remarkably better! Kudos. That can take a long time for people to get right. I will say that while I see what you were trying with the ears, it didn't quite come out right. A good attempt though! An artist has to be willing to try different things, even if they don't always work.
So, looks to me like we need to schedule a time to do some blending and shading together. I'm impressed!! ^_^
Oh, btw... I love the mobius strip you put on the handle. Thanks for remembering that. ^_^

I think the ears are better than my normal fare, but I still have such a problem with placement and shape on them. I keep trying, though. I think the biggest problem here was the transition from hair to ear. I went with a sort of blurring effect here and it ends up looking more like the ears are on top of the hair. I think I should use a harder transition going forward.
And, heh ^_^ You thought I forgot, huh?
