It occurred to me that I have very few GOOD photos of these guys, so I got a couple decent ones as well as a video (HERE: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mkEHUybEyXM ) of which I also didn't have a decent-quality one. 5 pictures came out worth posting. They're somewhat difficult to photograph well because of their dark color and extremely shiny exoskeleton.

I've kept these for a little over two years now, and they're one of my favorite species of cockroach that I keep. Docile, clean, easy to breed and quite hardy. I can't wait to capture more in FL when we move this month!! :)

i hope you have a quarantine iso. tank ready, the gov't in florida is pretty non-specific about where they wage their war on mosquitoes
the local reptile shows discourage the use of found insects as feeders because of excessive public/private pesticide run off
ending up in water sources well away from the treatment site
better to have just one dead crawly than exposing dozens of others
