Checkpoint- Sonic the Hedgehog AR
Lessee... *consults clipboard* Shrinking? Check. Growing? Check. Age Regression? *looks up* Checkaroo.
It really is about time I did this, I mean he's right ripe for AR, isn't he? Arrogant, self-centered, brash...
***********************************************************************
Always running, never does he take the time to slow down and smell the roses 'round Station Square park, count his blessings beneath the endless skies of Green Hill, hug and console a friend...
Always left in the dust...
It's time to decelerate... Maybe even go in reverse...
***********************************************************************
Now then...
From shrinking he learns magnitude of existence, from growing: fragility. And age regression: humility... Hm, now that is interesting- Oh, Oh! Excuse me, just noting the client's progress. *ahem* Where to next?

You have a checklist? *tries to checks this clipboard but is blocked by mane of blue hair* One of these days, I'll see this list >.> Somehow...
Anyway, I'm a little surprised by your interpretation of the Hedgehog. I only say that from being a fan of the old cartoon (SatAm, not that other one >.>), as well as the comic series from Archie comics. With that said, I actually do agree he is quite prone to what you listed: Arrogance, self-centered, brash...and addiction to chili dogs...
Now, before I get into the picture, I want to comment on the short but rather poetic little piece you attached to it: Quite to the point, but certainly has an impact, especially with that last sentence "It's time to decelerate...Maybe even go in reverse...". Very nice. Little chilly (in the goosebumps causing sort of way) and quite foreshadowing but nonetheless adds a lot to the piece above, especially since I think it serves as a direct companion to the top half of the picture.
That in particular is quite good. I've never seen your take on Sonic (pre TF) before, and its quite unique. The musculature of his form, toned more in the torso while remaining quite lean is rather appropriate (then the round pot belly from earlier incarnations in his "canon" appearances in games and shows). Got the spiked hairdo down to a science of course, as smug expression. The use of the old school checkpoints is a very nice nostalgic touch which I must applaud, reminding my times playing Sonic 2. Good times...*sighs and mind drifts off to cubhood...before snapping awake, coughing and blushing as he continues to the second portion*
Wow, I first have to say, that is certainly an arrogant looking hedgehog...and that's is a rather awkward compliment, now that I've typed it. The actual regression is quite a good way of handling a character like Sonic, as he doesn't wear too much in the ways of clothes, which results in the need of employing more creative ways of regression, which you clearly do. First, using a Chaos Emerald as the catalyst is of course, a nice nod to continuity, but details related the regression deserve appreciation: The slow shift into a softer, lighter shade of blue while his firm-toned body softens into childish pudginess while taking the light peach-brown parts of the form taking on a more pinkish tint is definitely well done. Then of course ,there's the over-sized gloves which illicit a chuckle from me...only to awww when the poor little hedgehog finishes regressing (or at least, looks like he's stopped regressing >.>).
Finally, I have to say, Its interesting how you have a clear "lesson" plan for each transformation you put Sonic through (curious if you do that for everyone...)...and now I'm curious where YOU were drifting off to in those final thoughts...*chuckles and winks*

Heeeeey, this list is private- *yanks it away before catching sight of a puppy-dog eyes look from the wolf* Oh, all right, you can have a peek. What? What do you mean the handwriting's illegible? Ah well, I guess my plans'll remain a secret then. Heh heh heh...
I'm really happy you cottoned on to the color shift between blues, that's something I knew you're keen eyes would catch. *winks* And yes, I think he's just about finished regressing, though you never can tell with Chaos, can you?
I really have my Sonic character and design as an amalgam from a wide range of sources- I personally like the original Sonic games for their beautiful environments, and the newest games, (or not so much new as Sonic Adventure 2 was released quite a few years ago and that's about as new as I'll let myself go...) is where much of the personality is drawn from. I have a sort of shamefully "pick-and-choose, like and dislike" Mobius assembled in my head...
Well I try to identify lessons for each of these TFs, (you know that's an important part of working in the Nursery too, I imagine). Just as Ash was learning loads from his multiple transformations I'd imagine Sonic will too. Though it's kinda cheap to just say he learned those things... Well, in my mind there's a long chain of experiences in each form leading up to a considerably better and happier hedgehog...

Sorry for this late reply here-
Thanks so much for the compliments, and yes I do have a tendency to take AR in directions and realms seldom if ever explored before. And that's had both negative and positive as well as just plain weird consequences...
More? Well, I've been developing a couple more AR pics with Sonic characters... I'll see what I can do. :)
As to the age of our very young hedgehog friend, I'd imagine... Toddlerhood, or late infancy? Perhaps 1, no older than 2.
