So, just trace out the pattern you want onto the aluminum, carefully spread acid onto the parts you want dissolved, and let it eat away the metal until it's at the depth you want it at, clean it off and neutralize the acid, then paint the dissolved areas (if it's big enough) with the enamel? Or just have the acid eat away the trace line, and paint the uneaten metal?
So, if I get the procedure right, it's paint, etch, clean, strip, repaint, detail? Since the paint is enamel, can I do it so that I paint the outline of the image, etch, clean, strip, then paint the etched areas?
Sorry for all of the questions; I just want to make sure I get a good idea of what to do, so I don't mess up when I try it for a present for my mate.
