The images in the word bubbles aren't meant to be symbolic of concrete thoughts and words so much as symbolic of the response of someone who is completely and utterly panicked and confused. I did have some reservations about using letters in the last word bubble, but... well, sometimes, regardless of a language barrier, you can tell *exactly* what someone is trying to say even if you can't understand the actual words.
