It might help Mark if he shed the fur coat, that doesn't seem too bright.

Mark's fur coat is already in "Summer form": usually he's much fluffier.
Also, he's not very heat tolerant and even if he was furless he would feel hot... the shorter fur that he already has helps him isolating, so this is the best that he can achieve.
