So this is the character I was talking about in my journal; Rayne.

He's got shadowy arm things! It's actually a separate organism that's rooted into Rayne's brain and nervous system. He provides it with nutrition as a host and it provides him with protection among other things (ie: clothing)

i typed a whole lot about how these organisms work on twitter so i'm not gonna retype it here but suffice to say they're born with this organism and removing it is incredibly detrimental and painful.

As for Rayne himself, he pretty much just wants to be left alone. He doesn't like crowds or having excess responsibilities. He does have a small group of friends he likes to talk with though. He mostly uses his arm thingies to jsut make life a little more convenient.
