Nothing much to see here, folks, just me trying out some effects and stuff and getting my feel for doing colored projects in Photoshop again.
I wanted to practice using a white-colored character (was gonna be Viledove, didn't work for me) and was in the mood to draw a Phoenix chicken character...but the ones I have are not white. So in comes Sovong, named after a character of sorts from an old Cambodian legend. He's supposed to have a black 'twin', but...dunno if I'm gonna draw him.
Name and concept is (VERY loosely) based after this legend: http://www.leisurecambodia.com/Leis.....nd_kirirom.htm

Fun fact: Long ago, Japanese breeders would let the tail on phoenix roosters grow as long as 15 or so feet long. Nowadays they keep them relatively shorter, but still long enough to make a striking impression.
I'm guessing some of that mentality of long tailfeathers=pretty still lingers in the anthro version, with this fella being no exception. Not very practical, but who ever said beauty had to make sense?
