Working on a lore dump for Scalemorphing, the 2nd Dragon Magic.
It's all about incremental "buffing" to one's internal systems to better oneself. It could be as simple as a fire mage warming their blood to keep from freezing to death to a lightning dragon (like this one) giving themselves better vision at night through the use of electricity.
Scalemorphing is a balance between improving your physical and mental abilities and, in this case with lightning, not suffering a seizure and is not a discipline that is meant to be relied on in it's own right. But as with all mages, it's a tool in a box to use in certain situations along with breathrowing and dreamcalling
Different elemental disciplines (with each mage essentially picking one) has different uses for scalemorphing, some are better suited towards it, other elements are inherently less versatile (do you REALLY want acid in your bloodstream?) so different disciplines use it differently
