Since I'm a more realistic coati, apart from being twice as old as any real coati could be and somehow playing pinball, I worked from a real photograph that was delightful and looking in about the right direction. Anyway, so what I've learned from this is that my practice copying Walt Kelly strips has not helped me get the hang of sketching from a photograph. Part of this is the medium: I do less bad renditions using a pencil and paper. But another part of it is that converting a real-life animal to a caricature requires adaptation and I didn't do that here.
