Lady Altair sat quietly in the sun-warmed grass of the royal gardens, waiting for her little daughter to return. The sound of her little paws heralded Mikomi's coming down the path.
"Momma! I got this for you", chirped the kitten, a red blossom clutched in her paws.
Altar smiled at her daugther, "That's lovely, Mimi. Where did you find such a beautiful thing?"
Mikomi giggled sheepishly. "I had to fight off Ebmisire and travel past the mountains for it. It was amazing!"
"My my... What an adventure. But you know... that looks an awful lot like the flowers I had put in your bathroom." The queen smiled, taking the blossom from her kitten's paws.
Mikomi's face fell at this.
"But it must be a coincidence. Thank you for going on such a dangerous journey just for me" Altair finished with a smile, tucking the flower into her little girl's hair, pulling her into her lap.
