I had wondered if this was of the PK Thunder kid from the iconic SNES game.
Given how it was super popular, even after the SNES days, I wonder if Nintendo may do what CAPCOM and SQUARE / ENIX has done by 'remaking' Earthbound? They could take elements from the other games, which were Japanese only, put them into the remake of the SNES era, and have a fun time making one great game that has enough impact to bring a new generation of fans to the series.
Did you play 'Earthbound'?
I would've also missed out on 'Chrono Trigger' if not for getting it on my PC SNES Emulator back in 2000. (I only remember because I played it the same time I went and saw 'Pokémon 2000' in theaters for a second time) *Blush*
It amazes me how much epic gaming, with little-to-no load time those cartridge games had. I think, when I looked it up in DOS, 'Chrono Trigger was a whopping 4 MB! This means Earthbound could not have been much bigger.
Nowadays you can't seem to get a title screen without at least 1 GB of data. dang!

Have you ever heard of 'The Angry Video game Nerd' / 'AVGN'? He has a really epic take on Earthbound and how, as a result of how Nintendo Power used 'scratch-and-sniff stickers' as part of enticing players to play a title that was front cover sub-titled with "This game stinks!". They meant it playfully but AVGN goes through and gives a good review of the game from start-to-finish. You can watch him free on Amazon Prime, or YouTube. :)
