Link's Awakening is a pretty good game. Even as an elementary schooler, I liked Marin: A sweet, friendly, animal-loving girl who likes to sing. But because I was a dumb kid, I never got past the second dungeon until I returned to it as an adult and beat it...and saw that Marin went from "early video game crush" to waifu-able. Even Link's so jazzed up to hang out with her he does the "DA DA DA DAAA" pose when she follows him for a while.
If there were only one thing that could make me not want to finish that game because spoilers, it's her.
Makes the bonus ending all the sweeter.
