The idea behind Dark Stamp was to create a dark ego for an existing character (in this case I used Stamp for that).

I like the way Stamp's colours turned out. You have to know that I had absolutely no idea what kind of colours Stamp turned into. I just had a dark background in mind and uhm... well... purple suits black well... so... But after all the attempts of getting a decent shading, the purple colour changed into this and I must admit that I like this kind of colour. Suits Dark Stamp well. Oh, those two thingies on Stamp's head aren't actually horns... they're just some kind of antenna...
