wintery pictures save you from a lot of drawing work in terms of different colours and shades. a couple blue-ish streaks are enough. :)

true, but those bluish streaks need to be strategically placed to look good, and that's something I don't quite have the hang of, atleast not as well as I'd like to ^^'

Really, it is easier to make warm lighting that looks nice, atleast for me :)

if you colour traditionally, this is what I do:
I take a darker, slightly glowing blue like cobalt blue, a colour pencil with a not-too-sharp tip, and press it tonto the paper in a flat manner, so that the tip's edge has a little bit more pressure than the rest of the mine, and draw an uneven, broad line onto the paper. horizontal for the snow's surface, more or less vertical for footprint edges and the shadows behind people, plants, stones, and so on.
I don't know if that helps, but maybe it does indeed. :)

Well I got to say that it is a really sexy pose for her. Am I mistaken or some thing off with a green spot on her tail can not tell?

At least she is wearing socks for the the fox in the snow.

actually the green thing is the glove on her left hand, or maybe you viewed it in the smaller size? that size makes it harder to make out some details... though I guess I left out the bit of the left sleeve that would show up behind her tail.

I see the glove on the right hand but the one on the tail (yes I looked at the larger image) looks sort of like a green dot on her tail. Well that is my perspective.

Fox with socks has got to have a box of socks.

Having fur, she doesn't radiate as much heat, and as such melts the snow she's on slower, and you don't get visible breath unless it's somewhat under the freezing point, so let's say it's about -10'C. She actually has two layer insulation with the wooly socks, so they'll likely just gather chunks of snow at most, and her tail is fluffy enough not to radiate much heat at all, so it's safe from getting soggy while she stays outside. Furthermore her bum is actually not touching the ground ^^

Means that it's awesome.

Sometimes during winters I really envy animals for having a fur coat. They don't need to put on 3 layers of crap just to not freeze when going outside and the clothing bill is way cheaper too.
