You may see a blurry picture of a half-eaten bagel. But I see a picture of a bagel that has been eaten by 37.8%, and a hasty, easily distracted 13 year-old that was so desperately trying to capture his current emotions in a photographic moment. The fact that the plate with the food on it is sitting on the chair tells us that food is overtaking many priorities in this lad's life. The chair he had once sat it has now been bestowed upon his breakfast. The bagel held such importance that he gave up his seat in front of the television for it. The fact that that precise amount of the bagel has been consumed signifies that he was eager to eat it, but only taken two bites shows us just the ratio of gluttony to how much it meant to him that he capture this very moment between having tasted the food, and before finishing it. This truly was the peak of happiness for him this winter morning. What a loser.
